Why Velaa Private Island
Velaa Private Island is the boutique end of ultra-luxury — 47 villas on a single Noonu island, owner-run by a Czech entrepreneur who has put genuine money into the food, the wine list, and a 9-hole golf course (the only resort course in the country). The Aragu restaurant has held one of the country's better food reputations for years. Spa is small and considered. Best for couples and small groups wanting an intimate ultra-luxury without the corporate gloss of a Cheval Blanc. Skip it if you want a spread-out 6★ campus; Velaa is deliberately compact.
