Why The Residence Dhigurah
The Residence Dhigurah occupies a 1.6 km island in Gaafu Alifu, the country's deep south — the kind of distance that filters out drop-in tourism and leaves the resort genuinely quiet. 173 villas across beach and overwater categories, two pools, a strong PADI dive school. The far-south atolls are extraordinary for divers (channel dives, hammerhead sites, large pelagics) and the resort runs a sister-property loop with The Residence Falhumaafushi. Best for couples and divers wanting genuine remote with 5★ comfort. Skip it if a 1-hour domestic flight + 10-min boat at each end sounds like a chore.
