Why Anantara Veli
Anantara Veli is the adults-only sister resort to Anantara Dhigu, sharing a North Malé Atoll lagoon a 30-minute speedboat from the airport. 67 overwater villas (every room here is overwater), a kid-free policy across the property, and a surprisingly decent house reef given the proximity to MLE. Three restaurants, a Six Senses-tier spa pavilion, and a footbridge to Anantara Dhigu next door if you want a wider food selection or the larger pool deck. Best for couples on a short trip who want overwater living without the seaplane-day commitment. Skip it if you want a remote feel — you'll see boats and other resorts from the lagoon.
